Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5) is the sixth major release of Mac OS X (now named macOS). Leopard is the final version of Mac OS X to support the PowerPC architecture as Snow Leopard functions solely on Intel based Macs. Certification means that software following the Single UNIX Specification can be compiled.

Software Updates for Mac OS X 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 I recently split the 32GB SSD in my iBook G3 into five partitions, have installed the following operating systems:. Mac OS X 10.4. Mac OS X 10.3. Mac OS X 10.2. Mac OS X 10.1. Mac OS 9.2 While I was able to update 10.4 with Software Update (screenshots 1 & 2 below), Apple ended such support for all previous systems.
I've downloaded everything from, my next step is to find out which of those updates to install, and in what order. Does anyone have a machine that they installed one (or more) of these OSs on, that they then updated as far as possible, solely via Software Update, before 23rd July 2012?

The original request was asking which updates go onto a 9.2 system through Software Update so those are the ones that I covered. However your mention of firmware updates reminded me that I previously installed the. From memory this was a prerequisite before OS 9 could even be installed. Edit: There are other updates available that don't come through Software Update, such as a QuickTime update. I don't have the version number on-hand, and I don't know whether there are any other 'secret' updates besides QuickTime.
Edit 2: Hmm, thinking about it some more, my install CD is for 9.1 and it needs to go 9.1 -9.2.2. I don't understand why 9.2.1 is not listed in my install log unless I installed it manually for some reason. Click to expand.Aren't the updates named 'Security Update.' Always cumulative, ie you would only need to apply the latest one, which I think for Panther (10.3.9) is 'Security Update 2007-008'?
